About Me / Q&A

  • How did you arrive at running your photography business? What path brought you here?

In 2012 I quit smoking & was looking for something to do. I wanted a decoy or something to keep my hands & mind busy. I started carrying my little coolpix point & shoot camera with me. I took it EVERYWHERE and took pictures of EVERYTHING and they weren't good photos either - they were shaky, blurry shots of anything and everything. These awful snapshots quickly clogged up my facebook newsfeed! Sorry friends. Days turned into weeks and as my nicotine addiction died - a new love for photography was born.

  • What are you known for professionally? What do you have a knack for?

I've dabbled in portraiture but, unless it's a selfie, I don't really have the knack or passion for it. These days, my focus is on freelance, travel and stock photography.

  • What are you most passionate about professionally? What most excites you about your work & the contribution you can make?

I love the way the world looks through my lens. I love that I can push a button and capture a moment. I hold in my hands a device that has the power to stop time and preserve a moment for years to come. In film photography, The dark room is my favorite place. Watching images appear on blank paper is... It's magic.

Photography is versatile -- it's used in all lines of work and is observed everywhere from newsprint to the breathtaking print hanging on someone's living room wall..

  • What are you passionate about personally? What do you really enjoy? What can’t you stop talking about?

my personal interests go hand in hand with my work which include: RVing, travel, experiencing/seeing new things & being at the ocean. I love the beach -- also have interest in astrology, astronomy art, writing, social networking, sharing pictures...

  • Where can we find you when you’re not working? What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend or a Sunday afternoon?

I enjoy quiet evenings at home, however, during the day I just can't sit still.

When I'm not working on a project I'm spending time with family or catching up with friends, house cleaning, laundry and things like that. Weekends are the best for yard sales! Free time -- If I'm not on the beach then I may be at the local thrift store or storage auction with my partner. Our ebay store is my second job. I think i'm always working, thankfully, it doesn't feel like work.

  • How long have you been doing what you do?

I started in 2012 so, about three years.

  • Where did you grow up and why aren’t you there now?

I grew up in Rhode Island. As a baby we lived in a small town called Chepatchet -- literally in the middle of nowhere. My very first move was to Lake Shore Dr. in Johnston, RI -- I was too small to remember. We lived there for a few years, until I graduated kindergarten. My parents bought and sold real estate and I moved around more than any of my friends did. Sadly, I lost contact with the best firends from my youngest years. Sometimes we lived in the homes we rennovated. We had quite a few different homes growing up - I truly believe that is where my love for travel was seeded.

After graduation I married and moved southwest where my new life began. We moved around a bit ourselves but, I love it down here -- the weather is great, people are generally friendly and hospitible, there is lots to see and do. I feel like I should have been somewhere in the south.  Moving back to Rhode Island has crossed my mind a time or two, but, it would never be the same - a lot of time has passed and I love my life down here. I'm right where I belong.

  • Any volunteer activities you’re crazy about? Any nonprofits you love, & why?

Presently, I help manage and create content for The Warrior Connection's social media pages.

  • Any awards or medals, or even medallions? Personal okay, too.

A special one, from a lifetime ago - One of my favorite pastimes is when my dad and I would go fishing and target shooting together on weekends. At age eleven he signed me up for a rifle/shooting competition. I had a great time and took home the first place medal that day. I was proud & so was he.

  • What would be impossible for you to give up?

Nothing is impossible to give up as anything in this world can be taken away. Though, for every door that closes a new door opens.

  • How do you want to be remembered?

I do my best today and hopefully after I'm gone, my friends and family will remember me fondly.

  • Anything else you’d like to tell people about yourself?

I'm energetic, insanely optimistic, a big dreamer and a big doer

If there is anything anyone wants to ask I invite you to >>contact me<<
