One way to make money with your photos is stock photography. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stock_photography)
Stock photography is the supply of photographs licensed for specific uses. RF (Royalty Free) Licensing.  Royalty Free licensing means that the purchaser has the right to use the picture with few restrictions based on their one-time payment to the licensor.
There are a lot of stock photography agencies existing on the web that will guide you through the process. Do a little research to find the best one for you.

Once you find an agency and sign up you'll be ready to upload your first images. Choose images that are high quality. Check to make sure they are clear and in focus. Finally, check your images for copyright issues -- this means anything that has a recognizable label or logo should be removed. For example: If your model is holding a Pepsi bottle, the label must be blurred our or removed.

What to take pictures of: People, animals, landscapes, macro photography and photos of items isolated on a white or black backgrounds all sell very well. Think outside the box -- be creative & unique in your style. Personally, on common subjects I like to shoot them from a different angle, not straight on. Sometimes shooting from a lower angle will capture a totally new view of an ordinary subject.

Remember: Good titles, captions and relevant keywords sell images! Once your images are available for sale online -- advertise them everywhere. Share the links with friends, family, and social networks everywhere as this will help boost your sales. Become friends with other photographers within your agency. Link up with them, like their work. BE SOCIAL!

When an image sells the buyer will be able to download and use it in print or online. Some examples of this would be: web sites, designs, ads, school projects, business cards, presentations, book covers, CD covers, etc... You should be notified via email and will receive the agreed upon percentage of the profits. With most agencies, you can request payment via check or paypal once your earnings reach $50 or $100 dollars.

Selling photos this way is so unbelievably easy and is another great way of making extra money. Once your images are uploaded there is nothing else you need to do. just go out and take more photos or sit back and watch your sales. I invite you to see my portfolio as an example.
